James Litchfield is a Sydney-based writer and director. A  Master’s graduate of Melbourne’s VCA, he has also studied at L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier. In addition to his feature debut “Alphabet Lane”, he has made several shorts, most of which are characterised by a quiet humour, a sense of mystery, and a grappling with meaning and anxiety. He has a few feature film scripts currently in development with Joe Films, and is an EP on Rodeo Dreams, a rodeo documentary conceived of by him and Bill Bleakley and produced for the ABC. Prior to filmmaking, he worked as a lawyer, and an associate (clerk) to a federal court judge
